This Privacy Policy describes how Vanessa Musenja Ministries (“the Ministry”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and safeguards personal information when you visit our website or engage with our online ministry. By using the site you agree to the practices described here.
Who we are
Vanessa Musenja Ministries is a faith-based ministry led by Vanessa Musenja, serving a worldwide community from Dubai, United Arab Emirates. For the purposes of data-protection law, we are the “controller” of the personal information collected through this website.
If you have any questions about this policy or how your information is handled, you can reach us at vanessa@vanessamusenjaministries.org or through our contact page.
Information we collect
We only collect what we need to serve you well. Depending on how you engage with us, this may include:
Information you give us
- Contact details — your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, and country — when you join the movement, contact us, subscribe to the daily word, request prayer, or request access.
- Prayer requests and messages — the content of any prayer request, enquiry, or reflection you choose to send. You may submit a prayer request anonymously.
- Testimonies and media — your story, and any photographs or video you upload when you choose to share a testimony.
- Believers’ Academy applications — the details you provide to enrol, which may include date of birth, address, spiritual background, your reason for joining, and an emergency contact.
- Giving information — when you give, your gift is processed by a trusted third-party payment provider (such as PayPal or Stripe). We receive confirmation of your gift and any details you send us; we never see or store your full card number.
Information collected automatically
- Basic technical data — such as your IP address, browser type, device, and pages visited — gathered through cookies and similar technologies to keep the site secure and to understand, in aggregate, how it is used.
Information from third parties
- When you give through a payment provider, we receive a confirmation and limited details (such as your name and the amount) so we can thank you and keep accurate records.
How and why we use your information
We use your information to:
- respond to your messages, prayer requests, and enquiries, and pray for you;
- send you the resources you have asked for, such as the daily word or updates from the ministry;
- review and, with your blessing, publish testimonies you submit;
- process Believers’ Academy enrolments and accompany you through the programme;
- acknowledge gifts and keep proper financial records;
- keep the site safe, prevent abuse, and improve how it serves you.
Where data-protection law requires a lawful basis, we rely on your consent (which you may withdraw at any time), on our legitimate interest in carrying out and sharing the ministry, on the steps needed to respond to your request, and on compliance with legal obligations.
International transfers
We serve a global community, and our service providers may process information in countries other than your own, including outside the EEA and UK. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information remains protected to an appropriate standard.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as needed for the purpose it was given — to walk with you, to keep accurate records, and to meet our legal and financial obligations — and then we delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to remove your information at any time.
How we protect it
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encrypted connections, access controls, and careful handling of submissions — to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is ever completely secure, but we work to safeguard what you entrust to us.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information;
- restrict or object to certain uses of your information;
- receive your information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on it;
- unsubscribe from our messages using the link in any email or by contacting us.
To exercise any of these rights, simply email us at vanessa@vanessamusenjaministries.org. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
Children’s privacy
Our website is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has shared information with us, please contact us and we will remove it.
Third-party links and embeds
Our site links to and embeds content from other platforms. When you follow a link or view embedded media, that platform’s own privacy practices apply. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party services you use.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the ministry grows or as the law changes. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above, and significant changes will be made clear on this page.
How to reach us
If you have any questions, requests, or concerns about your privacy, we would love to hear from you at vanessa@vanessamusenjaministries.org or through our contact page.
